Challenge #1 - Sketch

Aspen Frost 6 x 6 pad (Basic Grey), Ornaments (Memory Box), Winter Wonders (Penny Black)
***************************************

Challenge #2.  Use elements on card that start with the letters O W H
Sassy Cheryl's digi, Copics, Furry Christmas stamp(Simon Says Stamp), Cool Highlight (Glitter Ritz)
I used an Orange nose, a White Star and a sentiment that starts with H.

(Please note:  because this card has glitter on it, it can not be shipped to OWH. I will save it for personal use).

Challenge #3 - Use Triple Die Cutting Technique
Firefly 6 x 6 pad (Prima), Olive card stock, Inside & Out Sayings (Simon Says Stamp),
Stitched Mat Rectangles( Lil Inkers)
This was a really fun challenge as I don't remember ever making a card with this technique. The matting really makes the card look elegant.

I have entered this card into the ANYTHING GOES challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

Honoring Ombre

Happy Saturday my crafty friends...

Made this little number for the Penny Black Stamp Squad and wouldn't you know, I am able to enter this card at the Tuesday Trigger challenge. I love how things work out like that...hehehe

This card is also entered into the Simon Says Stamp ANYTHING GOES challenge.
and
At CaseStudy using this picture as inspiration:

Going for an Ombre look was super easy with this Puzzle Parts stamp set by Penny Black (30-114). I love how the fussy cut "stars" (is there a real name for these shapes?) match the shape of the background stamp.
Used Memento inks Elderberry, Sweet Plum, Grape & Lulu Lavender starting with the dark at the bottom and going lighter towards the top.

PLEASE NOTE: Paula from Handmade by Paula informed me that the "stars" do have an actual name...who knew?
The shape is called Quatrefoil ...now we know! Thanks Paula, you are the best!!!

Added my beloved Liquid Pearls to "star" centers. (Ok I admit it, I have every color of my precious Pearls and I can't make a card without them...sure wish they would come out with new colors...I need a true Teal color especially).

Sentiment is from the Gratitude set, also by Penny Black (30-105).

Here is the inspiration photo for my card:

well Poopitz...I just noticed there is a butterfly...and I have loads of those I could have added to the card.
Oh well !!!

Ok...go out and make it a crafty one....

Color my World and Welcome

Hello and happy Friday my friends......

Do you have wonderful plans for the weekend? We will be visiting friends with great food and conversation, a little crafting (I am sure) and just relaxing.

I have been busy this week with DT projects, but finally got around to playing at Reverse Confetti (and none too soon, as this is the last day for their weekly challenge).
I absolutely love the Dream in Color stamp set...it is so versatile to change the sentiment to meet your crafting mood.

I took Basic Grey's 6 x 6 pad True Love and cut strips from several of the papers, attached at angle to a piece of white card stock for the back panel. I love using this technique for left over scraps.

This card is also entered into the Sketch challenge at Operation Write Home.

Teacher card

Happy Sunday friends...

Playing with my babies this weekend at the cottage. Declan and I were coloring with crayons and he wanted to color a flower. He chose a stamp by Penny Black (do I have this child trained, or what)...picture at the end of this post (because that's what Nana's do...brag)!

I am playing along today at the CardMaker Challenge Corner to use Toothpicks on a card
and at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for Back To School.
Also at Silhouette Blog using Numbers on a project.

All elements of this card were cut with Silhouette, except for the toothpick pencils that I colored with Spectrum Noir markers. (aren't they adorable).

This is my oldest grandson Declan (age 2 1/2). We colored together this morning.
Notice the Penny Black stamp on his paper.

Dictionary Smiles

Happy Friday my peeps....

Going to see the grandsons today and I can't wait to give them both a big hug! They are growing so fast and I don't want to miss a thing.

Before I am off to the boondocks, I wanted to get this card posted and entered into the challenge at CASology. The cue word this week is:

I took the word literally and used a page from a Dictionary as my background. To tone it down, I used gesso on top. Stamped and colored Petal Party (Penny Black) flowers, then popped one up for a tad of dimension.

This week we had one new Follower and I would like to welcome:
Ras
to my blog.

Each Friday I will give a shout out to all new Followers (click on Follower Button on the right side) and if you have a blog, I will make a link to you also.

Happy Birthday

Good morning my friends....

Playing along today with a couple of challenges.
Moxie Fab Trigger Tuesday had this picture as inspirations:

I literally took the idea of the teacup and the colors for my card. I have been itching to color the cute image of the girl balancing her teacups (Dr. Seuss comes to mind)...adorable!!
So of course I am also playing along at Sassy Cheryl's challenge (it is her image after all) which is a Birthday card.

I used the tiniest flower stamps I could find for the cups to duplicate the inspiration picture....ok no laughing!

And because this could be a card for a kid, I am also entering it into the challenge at OWH (where the card will go to anyway).

Happy Birthday to Lil' Inkers (joined this challenge also) !!! I don't have any of Lil' Inkers stamps (yet) but all the layers were used with their dies (LOVE...just sayin').

So folks...four challenges, one card...Yay me!

What do you do with all your cards? Almost all of my cards go to OWH...it is a great way for our troops to keep in touch with the family and friends, and I know that my cards are being appreciated.

Hope you are having a wonderful crafty day!

Let's go Shopping:
Digi (Sassy Cheryl's)
Stitched mats & Circles (Lil Inkers)
Sentiment/flowers stamps - Summer Fun, Charms (Penny Black)

Thinking of You

Hello my friends....

Getting ready to gear up for holiday cards, but I wanted to make a few last cards using flowers before all the red & green begins.

Who doesn't like Kraft paper with white? It is just so gorgeous!!! Wanting to try something a little different, I embossed the flowers with chocolate brown, then colored them with a white pencil and gel pen.

Fiskars Stitching punch, a little ribbon and a wooden button finishes this card.

I hope you are having a wonderful crafty day!

Let's go Shopping:
Trailing Beauty (Penny Black)
Sentimental (Penny Black)
Letter Background (Penny Black)

Thankful for Fall

Hello friends !! I have been busy busy...I just packed 55 cards into a box going to Operation Write Home...whew! I am Thankful that my cards are going to a good home.

Do you send Thank you cards all year long? Do you make them with a theme according to the time of year? Bright colors for Spring, Yellows & Blues for Summer, Red & Green for Winter, or how about some Fall colors?

These great new dies - Thankful & Old Oak Leaves from Die-Versions were just the thing to use for my Fall card.

I die cut the sentiment first, then die cut the Old Oak Leaves 3 times from white card stock, and pounced with Memento inks Peanut Brittle, Potters Clay &Toffee Crunch.
Attached in a circular pattern to make a wreath.
Back panel of card was inked in the same way.

I also inked the jute to match and added a few dollops of Liquid Pearls.

You make cards for fun, make them extra special for the recipient. Gear them to the seasons.

I have entered this card into the Monochromatic Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

Love you this much

Hello my peeps...Happy Monday!!

I just received this new paper pad from My Mind's Eye called Oxford Lane and it has the most gorgeous papers. I can see a lot card "manly" cards from this collection.

I am playing along today at Avery Elle using this sketch as inspiration:

The Navy Blue paper is from the Pride collection at Authentique and of course the sentiment is Lots of Love by Avery Elle.

Though the stamp set is geared towards Valentines, there are several stamps, like the sentiment I used on this card, that can be used year round.

Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles and a Studio Calico veneer heart also used on the card.

Light up my Life

Happy Sunday my friends.....

PLEASE NOTE:  You are not at the wrong blog....I changed the background as I was tired of the bright yellow and blue. One of these days I am going to find a background for this blog and stick with it...in the meantime...welcome to the new look.

Playing along today at OWH with this sketch challenge:

I had only used this stamp set by Taylored Expressions once and I wanted to make a fun card, so how about some lightning bugs in a jar...maybe at a picnic or in the back yard. When I was a kid spending summers in Illinois, I always loved catching them. Good memories!

To make the bugs look like they really are in the jar, I used vellum over them.
Paper pieced the jar lid and used foam adhesive to give it a little flair.

I have also entered this card into the Cue Word Challenge

Go Rays.....

It's me again...I am starting to wind down (I think), on the card making for today. I think I might be getting close to being caught up. YAY!!!

The Go to Gals over at CardMaker have challenged us to make a card worthy of Baseball.
Since it is a big no-no to use an actual sports team image (like say.. the RAYS), I dug out an old stamp set that has never been used (again, why did I buy it?). It has some really cute images pertaining to baseball, but it was in a drawer that I had not opened in awhile.

I love me some RAYS! I love me some RAYS! I love me some RAYS!

ok...I will stop!

Stamp is Play Ball by Crafty Secrets
The most adorable baseball threading is Baseball Stitching by Die-Versions.
Pattern paper is Pride by Authentique (which I won, btw)

I intentionally left a sentiment off .
This card will go to OWH and I am thinking the soldier selecting this card to send home has an idea in mind for the recipient ( our ticket to paradise, you punch my ticket, it's a banner day, you get the idea...right?)

Frosty Star

Hi again.....I am trying to catch up, but I keep finding things that need to be posted.

I made this little cutie for the Die-Versions new Corner Concepts release.
Are you loving those stars???
(Just one of eight new Corners).

And how appropriate that I found this adorable digi by Sassy Cheryl's to compliment the new Stars Corner.

Isn't it just a Kawinkie Dink that I am able to post this card on this challenge??
I am lucky that way!!!
